About

Dr. Rhiannon Koehler is a veterinarian and freelance medical writer in the Kansas City area with over a decade of experience in the veterinary field.

Rhiannon worked as a practicing veterinarian for a well-known shelter in the Kansas City area for three years prior to founding Evergreen Medical Writing, LLC, a company dedicated to the empowerment of pet parents and clinicians through educational and grant writing. She writes in both the veterinary and human medical spaces. Rhiannon continues to work part-time at an animal shelter and in wellness clinics while running her business. Her primary passions include pet parent education and providing veterinary care to homeless or underprivileged pets.

She considers herself both a dog and cat mom. Rhiannon couldn’t tell you if she’s a dog or cat person, as she loves working with all pets too much to choose. 

Specialty

• She started serving as an expert reviewer for onevet.ai in 2022.
• She is a Fear Free Shelters graduate. 
• She is also a member of the American Medical Writers Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association. 

Curriculum

Dr. Koehler earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and her Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Missouri – Columbia.  She also finished her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from the same university.
